A Penelope of our times, La Signorina Gorza weaves the warps of worlds of fairy tales and pleasantnesses, either good or naughty.
Through various materials a dream scenography becomes true, originates from the versatile matter of fabrics, yarns, embroideries and retro/pop objects.
In the works of La Signorina Gorza we discover a world in which frivolity cohexists with solemnity, nostalgia and oblivion: we find everyday things and things we will never see.

Irony softens any pretensions of austerity and provocation go together with candour; her works bring us in an environment where there is no place for aestethic servilisms but for mad beauty .

La Signorina Gorza was born in Milan in 1968, she graduated in Visual Communication in 1987 and Scenography at the Fine Arts Academy of Brera in 1994.

Since 1995 she has been dealing with Figurative and Sensory Theatre: set designer, wardrobe assistant, actress, puppet mistress (both in puppet theatre and shadowplay), gardener, and sorceress.

Penelope dei nostri giorni , la Signorina Gorza tesse orditi di mondi colmi di favole e piacevolezze (svariate e avariate).
Attraverso la materia, quella versatile dei tessuti, dei filati, dei ricami e di oggetti retro' e pop, nasce una scenografia concreta e allo stesso tempo onirica.

Nell'opera della Signorina Gorza troviamo un mondo denso di frivolezza e allo stesso tempo di solennità, di nostalgia e di oblio: quello che vediamo ogni giorno e quello che non vedremo mai. L'ironia sfuma ogni pretesa di austerità e la provocazione va a braccetto con l’ingenuità. Le sue opere portano in un ambiente dove non ci sono servilismi estetici ma folle bellezza.

La Signorina Gorza è nata a Milano nel 1968, diplomata in COMUNICAZIONI VISIVE e SCENOGRAFIA presso l’ACCADEMIA DI BELLE ARTI di BRERA
Si occupa dal 1995 di TEATRO di FIGURA e TEATRO SENSORIALE: scenografa, costumista, attrice, animatrice (di pupazzi ,teatro d’ombre e burattini), giardiniera, RICAMATRICE MANNARA e fattucchiera.
